Yosemite Lanes will be endeavoring in a new concept in the bowling center arena. On Sunday Aug 17, 2008, Yosemite lanes will present an outdoor family festival, which I like to call “Bowl Fest One”, a totally new concept but one a bowling center in Northern. California has not yet attempted. We expect more than 250 visitors to the event. The age group we expect is anywhere between 10 to 50+ years old. The event will be held on our east side parking lot. A covered fence line will be established as a perimeter in the east parking lot. Porta-potties and water misters will provided for everyone’s convenience. Stage and lighting will be installed along with portable electrical for anyone who should need it. This will be a total secured venue with plenty of security personal around. No alcohol will be allowed outside but will be available inside the bowl all day and night. This one-day event will have local bands and local venders selling everything from food to face- painting. A time slot has been set for a first of its kind, chicken wing-eating contest for adults and kids, with some great prizes to the winners. The bands will play every hour from 1pm to 4pm. Then from 5 pm to 6:30pm the chicken-wing eating contest will be held. To finish off the day two more bands to follow until 8:30pm on the outside venue. The last band will perform in our lounge at 9pm to close off a great day of food fun and music. There will be paper advertising along with some radio and our e-mails of over 3,000 should make this a success. To do all the above Yosemite Lanes needs some sponsor help with the expenditures fencing, stage, porta potties, security and chicken-wing eating contest. If this sounds like something you want to help with, your logo and or name will be advertised along with a banner put up at the event. You are also encouraged to bring whatever you have to sell to the event. Whether you sell crafts or cars this could be an opportunity to get some exposer you are looking for. Main sponsor over the stage or getting a vendor booth will help to get this fun event off the ground on its first year.
