Apex Legends Season 1

It was only a matter of time before the first battle pass for Apex Legends was announced and released.

Boys and girls we are here! What do you think?

Personally I love the new character Octane, but the type of loot avaliable doesn’t seem as apealing as I’d hoped it would be. Although there is an understandable reason why, which I’ll get into later, but first let’s talk about OCTANE!

A New Legend Approaches

Please welcome Octane to the arena! This brand new legend is really a sight to see. His abilities are just too much to fun! Lets break him down.

  • Passive Ability: Swift Mend

  • While not in combat Octanes health will slowly regenerate. This passive ability comes specifically in handy when using his Tactical ability.

  • Tactical Ability: Stim

  • Octane has the passive ability of increased movement. This guy is such as savage he pierces himself with an injection of some sort of super speed serum. Oh by the way he stabs this syringe in his forehead!  This injection gives Octane roughly six seconds of increased speed, which is more than enough time to get out of a bad situation. This speed boost however comes at a cost of health.

  • Ultimate Ability: Launch Pad

  • With the simple toss of a Launch Pad, Octane can propel himself, and anyone else on the map of that matter, off to great heights.

Battle Pass Loot

Like every other game that has introduced a battle pass rewards system, the Apex Legends version will include different character skins, weapons, loot boxes, and a whole host of other items.

The Apex community seems to be split about whether they’re pleased with the cosmetic styles that have been released. Many comparisons have been made to the creativity that Fortnite seems to display with their battle pass and other character skins they release.

I personally see a valid argument for Apex for this. In the case of Fortnite the character skin makes no difference on the impending battles, where as in Apex Legends the character makes all the difference. Being able to see who you are going up against allows you to plan on what abilities your going to face against. If there is no clear details on what character your facing off against then your blinded going into battle.
